When a device is plugged in, <strong>media and image transfer protocols may activate automatically<\/strong>, allowing attackers to access personal data, steal passwords, or install malware \u2014 all without the user noticing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alarmingly, <strong>68% of companies<\/strong> in the UAE have faced cyber incidents linked to unsafe charging ports, resulting in data leaks and compromised infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Warning Signs Your Device May Be Compromised<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Users should remain alert to suspicious behaviour that may indicate a juice jacking attack, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rapid unexplained battery drain<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apps running slower than usual<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frequent system crashes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strange symbols, notifications or unfamiliar apps appearing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These changes often signal malicious activity operating in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Protect Yourself<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To reduce risk, the UAE Cyber Security Council recommends several protective measures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Avoid Public Charging Stations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Carry a personal charger or <strong>use a power bank<\/strong> while travelling. If a public port must be used, opt for <strong>USB power-only cables<\/strong> that block data transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Reject Data Transfer Requests<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Always decline prompts asking to \u201ctransfer files\u201d or \u201caccess data\u201d during charging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3.
