The report, released by <strong>PharmEasy<\/strong>, analysed <strong>over 4 million diagnostic reports<\/strong> and <strong>19 million medicine orders<\/strong> across <strong>29 Indian states and union territories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Untitled-design-4-1280x720-1-1024x576-1.png\" alt=\"50% Indians Have High Sugar, As Per Nation-Wide Survey Of Diabetes\" class=\"wp-image-1302563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Untitled-design-4-1280x720-1-1024x576-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Untitled-design-4-1280x720-1-1024x576-1-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Untitled-design-4-1280x720-1-1024x576-1-768x432.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Half of Tested Indians Show Irregular Blood Sugar Levels<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The report found that <strong>1 in 3 HbA1c tests<\/strong> indicated diabetic levels, while <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/life\/health\/1-in-2-indians-tested-show-high-blood-sugar-nationwide-analysis-warns-of-rising-diabetes-threat\/4040712\/\">1 in 4 individuals<\/a><\/strong> were in the <strong>prediabetic range<\/strong>. More than <strong>50% of all those tested<\/strong> showed signs of elevated or fluctuating blood sugar \u2014 a clear indication of how deeply diabetes has entrenched itself in India\u2019s health landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experts warn that if not addressed urgently, diabetes could become India\u2019s biggest public health challenge of the decade, especially as the condition increasingly affects <strong>younger populations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Younger Indians Facing Rising Risk<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The report titled <strong>\u201cDiabetes: The Silent Killer Sweeping Across India\u201d<\/strong> highlights a concerning shift \u2014 with a <strong>sharp rise in high blood sugar cases among those under 30<\/strong>.<br>Dr. <strong>Animesh Choudhary, MBBS, MD<\/strong>, cautioned that this trend could lead to <strong>early onset of complications<\/strong> such as heart disease, kidney failure, and vision loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that <strong>diabetes prevention must begin in childhood<\/strong> by fostering <strong>healthy diets, regular exercise<\/strong>, and <strong>mental well-being<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Associated Health Risks: Thyroid, Liver, and Kidney Issues<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Diabetes rarely comes alone. The analysis found that <strong>1 in 4 diabetics<\/strong> had <strong>thyroid abnormalities<\/strong>, while <strong>1 in 3<\/strong> showed <strong>liver dysfunction<\/strong>. Nearly <strong>half<\/strong> exhibited <strong>kidney impairment<\/strong>, and around <strong>90%<\/strong> had <strong>abnormal lipid profiles<\/strong>, increasing their risk of <strong>heart disease<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the study also noted hope: among those who retested within six months, <strong>22% improved their sugar levels<\/strong>, and <strong>61% maintained stability<\/strong>, proving that <strong>early intervention and lifestyle management<\/strong> can reverse or control the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Men at Higher Risk, Southern States Hit Hardest<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The gender gap remains significant \u2014 <strong>51.9% of men<\/strong> tested had high blood sugar compared to <strong>45.4% of women<\/strong>.
