It applies to workers employed under various labour legislations, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Factories Act, 1948<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Karnataka Shops and Establishments Act, 1961<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plantation Workers Act, 1951<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beedi and Cigar Workers (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1966<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The benefit extends to <strong>permanent, contract, and outsourced employees<\/strong>. However, the GO currently <strong>excludes government staff<\/strong>, <strong>anganwadi workers<\/strong>, and <strong>ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activists)<\/strong>, which has drawn criticism from labour unions and activists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Policy Details and Implementation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The notification allows <strong>one day of paid menstrual leave each month<\/strong>, amounting to <strong>12 days annually<\/strong>, with <strong>no carryover<\/strong> to subsequent months.
