TCS Denies Report Claiming Marks & Spencer Ended Its “$1-Billion” Contract<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

TCS clarified that both companies confirmed the service desk contract went through a regular competitive RFP (request for proposal) process that began in January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M&S had already decided to work with other partners well before the cyber incident in April 2025, so the two events are \u201cclearly unrelated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per TCS\u2019 statement, \u201cThe report published by The Telegraph is misleading, with factual inaccuracies including the size of the contract and the continuity of TCS’ work for M&S. As both M&S and TCS have clarified, the service desk contract with M&S followed a regular competitive RFP (request for proposal) process initiated in Jan 2025, with M&S opting to proceed with other partners much prior to the cyber incident in April 2025. These matters are hence clearly unrelated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Telegraph\u2019s report alleged that M&S suffered a \u00a3300 million loss from the cyberattack and ended its long-term contract with TCS for managing its technology helpdesk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TCS emphasized that the service desk area makes up only a small portion of its overall business relationship with M&S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company called the claim about a $1 billion renewal \u201chighly exaggerated and baseless.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later that day, The Telegraph removed the “$1-billion” contract figure from its article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TCS Denies Reports Of 2500 Pune Employees Being Fired<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Recently, we reported that India\u2019s largest IT services firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is under scrutiny after reports surfaced that the company asked 2,500 employees in Pune to resign<\/a>, prompting a government probe into possible labour law violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) filed a complaint with the government, accusing TCS of violating the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 by terminating employees without prior notification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to NITES president Harpreet Singh Saluja, the union has requested urgent government intervention to safeguard employee rights. Acting on the complaint, the Union Labour Ministry has directed the Maharashtra Labour Secretary to take necessary action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
