The planned route includes <strong>Anik Depot \u2192 Wadala \u2192 Byculla \u2192 Nagpada \u2192 Bhendi Bazaar \u2192 Crawford Market \u2192 Horniman Circle \u2192 CSMT \u2192 Gateway of India<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spanning <strong>17.4 km<\/strong>, the line will feature <strong>14 stations<\/strong>, out of which <strong>13 will be underground<\/strong>, and <strong>one at-grade terminal<\/strong> located at Anik Depot. This makes it one of the most technically challenging metro projects in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Integrated Transport Hub at Anik Depot<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A standout feature of Line 11 is the <strong>vertically stacked integrated depot<\/strong> at <strong>Anik Depot<\/strong>, which will combine both <strong>metro and BEST bus operations<\/strong>. This innovative approach aims to <strong>optimize land use<\/strong> and facilitate <strong>seamless intermodal transfers<\/strong>, offering commuters smoother travel between bus and metro networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Timeline and Funding<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to MMRCL officials, <strong>preparatory works<\/strong> will be carried out alongside <strong>loan negotiations with JICA<\/strong>. Once funding and environmental clearances are secured, <strong>major construction is expected to begin by late 2026 or early 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This collaboration with JICA builds on the successful model of <strong>Metro Line 3<\/strong>, which also received Japanese funding and technical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Transforming South Mumbai\u2019s Connectivity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Line 11 will drastically <strong>reduce surface congestion<\/strong>, improve <strong>last-mile connectivity<\/strong>, and enhance access to <strong>key heritage, business, and tourism zones<\/strong> across South Mumbai.
