Starting November 1, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)<\/strong> is rolling out a major reform that allows Aadhaar users to update personal details online<\/strong>\u2014including name, address, date of birth, and mobile number\u2014without needing to visit an enrolment centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new automated verification system will validate data by linking Aadhaar to existing<\/a> government databases such as PAN, passport, driving license, ration card, and birth certificates<\/strong>. This move will drastically reduce manual errors, save time, and enhance the security of the Aadhaar ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revised Fee Structure for Aadhaar Services<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While online updates will be free until June 14, 2026, enrolment centres will now follow a revised fee structure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Biometric updates (fingerprint, iris, photo):<\/strong> \u20b9125<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    Aadhaar-PAN Linking Deadline Announced<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The government has set December 31, 2025<\/strong>, as the final date for Aadhaar-PAN linking. Failure to link will result in the PAN becoming inactive from January 1, 2026<\/strong>. For new PAN applicants, Aadhaar authentication is now mandatory<\/strong>, reinforcing India\u2019s move toward unified digital identity verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Simplified KYC Norms for Faster Verification<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    In line with the Aadhaar updates, banks and financial institutions<\/strong> can now complete Know Your Customer (KYC)<\/strong> verification through Aadhaar OTP, Video KYC, or in-person verification<\/strong>. This makes the process faster, paperless<\/strong>, and more secure for users, promoting ease of business and financial inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Banks to Allow Up to Four Nominees per Account<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    From November 1, bank account holders can add up to four nominees<\/strong> for savings accounts, fixed deposits, lockers, and safe custody articles. Users can assign specific shares or percentages totaling 100%<\/strong> among nominees. The new rule ensures smoother claim settlements and better clarity in financial succession planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
