No injuries were reported as the cabin crew quickly extinguished the flames using standard emergency procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Possible Restrictions on Power Bank Use<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>DGCA officials said the review will assess <strong>how passengers and airlines handle lithium battery-powered devices<\/strong>. The outcome could result in <strong>mandatory restrictions on battery capacity<\/strong>, a <strong>ban on in-flight use<\/strong>, or, in extreme cases, a <strong>complete prohibition on carrying power banks<\/strong> aboard aircraft if risks cannot be effectively mitigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA)<\/strong> has also been briefed and is working closely with the DGCA to frame <strong>new safety regulations<\/strong> that minimize the potential fire hazards associated with portable batteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>IndiGo\u2019s Official Statement on the Incident<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>IndiGo confirmed the October 19 incident involving flight <strong>6E 2107 (Delhi\u2013Dimapur)<\/strong> and said that the aircraft <strong>returned to the bay<\/strong> after detecting smoke from a power bank stored in a <strong>seat-back pocket<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe crew managed the situation quickly by diligently following the standard operating procedure, and the incident was controlled within seconds,\u201d the airline said. The flight resumed after safety checks, and <strong>no passengers were injured<\/strong>. IndiGo thanked its customers for remaining calm during the brief delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rising Global Concerns Over Lithium Batteries<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The IndiGo incident follows another fire involving a <strong>lithium battery on an Air China flight<\/strong> operating from Hangzhou to Seoul earlier this week.
