Speaking during the company\u2019s Q2 FY25 earnings call, Chief Human Resources Officer <strong>Sudeep Kunnumal<\/strong> confirmed that the company has <strong>no fixed target<\/strong> for cutting jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe reduction is an outcome of both voluntary and involuntary attrition. However, Kunnumal clarified that this figure reflects normal workforce churn. As of September 2025, the company\u2019s total headcount stood at <strong>593,314<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attrition in Q2 FY25 was <strong>13.3%<\/strong>, slightly higher than the <strong>12.3%<\/strong> recorded a year ago but lower than the <strong>13.8%<\/strong> in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>AI and Automation Reshaping Workforce Structure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TCS acknowledged that <strong>AI adoption and automation<\/strong> are transforming its workforce dynamics, especially affecting <strong>mid and senior-level employees<\/strong> who are unable to secure suitable roles. Benched staff are likely to face closer evaluation in the coming months. Despite this shift, Kunnumal assured that all exits are being managed \u201c<strong>with a lot of care<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Support for Departing Employees<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TCS is offering <strong>severance packages, counselling, and outplacement assistance<\/strong> to employees leaving the company. \u201cThe severance packages we provide are above industry benchmarks,\u201d Kunnumal noted. During the September quarter alone, the company <strong>spent \u20b91,135 crore on severance payments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Subdued Financial Performance in Q2 FY25<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TCS posted a <strong>1.4% year-on-year rise in net profit<\/strong> to \u20b912,075 crore, while <strong>revenue from operations grew 2.4%<\/strong> to \u20b965,799 crore.
