He highlighted significant progress in <strong>connectivity and infrastructure<\/strong> across the <strong>North-Eastern region<\/strong>, stating that all <strong>N-E states will be connected by rail by 2029<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe North-East is emerging as the gateway of India rather than being the last frontier,\u201d Scindia said, citing rapid growth in airports, roads, and digital connectivity.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Developments in the North-East<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Air Connectivity:<\/strong> The number of airports in the region has grown from <strong>nine to 17<\/strong>, including <strong>four in Arunachal Pradesh<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rail Connectivity:<\/strong> All eight states in the North-East are expected to be connected by <strong>2029<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Major Projects:<\/strong> Progress continues on the <strong>Kaladan<\/strong> and <strong>India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway<\/strong> projects, strengthening trade and mobility links.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Investment Boost:<\/strong> The <strong>Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav (Dec 2024)<\/strong> generated investment leads worth <strong>\u20b92,326 crore<\/strong>, while the <strong>North-East Banker\u2019s Conclave<\/strong> resulted in <strong>51 new bank branches<\/strong> and expanded MSME lending.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Economic and Cultural Growth<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Scindia described the North-East as a <strong>key driver of India\u2019s economic growth<\/strong>, pointing to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Higher decadal GDP growth<\/strong> than the national average<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>70% young population (below 28 years)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong <strong>literacy and cultural capital<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of DoNER also achieved a <strong>record expenditure of \u20b93,447.71 crore in FY 2024\u201325<\/strong>, marking a <strong>74.4% year-on-year increase<\/strong> and over <strong>200% growth in three years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Unified Brand Northeast Vision<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside infrastructure and investment, the ministry is promoting the region\u2019s unique identity through a <strong>\u201cBrand Northeast\u201d<\/strong> initiative, aimed at boosting tourism and cultural awareness across India and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>India Post\u2019s <strong>guaranteed delivery initiative<\/strong> and the government\u2019s <strong>North-East development strategy<\/strong> together highlight a broader national focus on <strong>speed, connectivity, and inclusivity<\/strong> \u2014 making India more connected, competitive, and future-ready.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a major step towards transforming India\u2019s postal ecosystem, India Post will soon offer time-guaranteed delivery for mails and parcels.
