The timeline for <strong>premature final settlement<\/strong> of EPF and pension funds has been <strong>extended significantly<\/strong> \u2014 from <strong>2 months to 12 months<\/strong> for EPF, and from <strong>2 months to 36 months<\/strong> for the Employees\u2019 Pension Scheme (EPS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that members can now withdraw their provident fund only <strong>after 12 months of unemployment<\/strong>, and pension funds only <strong>after 36 months<\/strong>. Previously, individuals could withdraw <strong>75% of their PF after one month<\/strong> and the <strong>remaining 25% after two months<\/strong> of job loss \u2014 a provision that provided crucial financial relief during unemployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Public Reaction: Mixed Views on \u2018Ease of Living\u2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many members have taken to social media to express dissatisfaction, arguing that the rule could make life harder for jobless individuals who depend on PF savings to cover EMIs, education fees, or daily expenses.
