Reducing dependence on fossil fuels and accelerating EV adoption are crucial steps toward sustainable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EV Revolution on the Horizon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWithin the next 4-6 months, the cost of electric vehicles will be equivalent to the cost of petrol vehicles,\u201d Gadkari <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/business\/Industry\/ev-prices-to-match-that-of-petrol-vehicles-in-4-6-months-gadkari\/article70131332.ece#google_vignette\">said<\/a>, signalling a significant shift for the auto industry and consumers alike. Price parity has long been seen as the final barrier to mass EV adoption in India. Once achieved, it is expected to <strong>accelerate demand<\/strong>, improve infrastructure investment, and reduce the country\u2019s carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gadkari also outlined ambitious plans to make <strong>India the world\u2019s largest automobile industry within the next five years<\/strong>. When he assumed office, the industry\u2019s size was <strong>\u20b914 lakh crore<\/strong>; today, it stands at <strong>\u20b922 lakh crore<\/strong>, making India the third-largest automotive market after the U.S. (\u20b978 lakh crore) and China (\u20b947 lakh crore).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Green Growth and Rural Prosperity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlighting the success of India\u2019s biofuel initiatives, Gadkari revealed that farmers have earned an additional <strong>\u20b945,000 crore<\/strong> by producing ethanol from corn. He also announced plans to <strong>utilise all segregated solid waste for road construction by 2027<\/strong>, turning waste into valuable infrastructure material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Education and Innovation for a Sustainable Future<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister stressed the critical role of <strong>higher education and skill development<\/strong> in shaping India\u2019s future. With a large pool of <strong>young and talented manpower<\/strong>, India must focus on equipping students with <strong>industry-relevant skills and practical knowledge<\/strong>.
