The Ministry of Finance has issued an official memorandum confirming that Group C employees<\/strong> and non-gazetted Group B employees<\/strong> of the central government will receive a bonus equivalent to 30 days\u2019 salary<\/strong> as a goodwill measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement is part of the government\u2019s annual tradition of rewarding its workforce during the festive season \u2014 typically ahead of Durga Puja and Diwali \u2014 and is expected to benefit a large section of central government staff across departments and sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Much Will Employees Receive?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Finance Ministry has clarified that the bonus amount has been fixed at \u20b96,908<\/strong> per employee. This calculation is based on a ceiling of \u20b97,000 per month<\/strong> for average emoluments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To explain the computation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Bonus = \u20b97,000 \u00d7 30 \/ 30.4 = \u20b96,907.89<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Rounded off, the final payable bonus is \u20b96,908<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    This bonus applies where the actual average emoluments exceed \u20b97,000. In case the salary is below the ceiling, the bonus amount will be calculated accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Eligibility Criteria for Bonus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    To receive this one-time bonus, employees must satisfy specific conditions laid out by the Ministry of Finance. The key eligibility requirements are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • The employee must be in service as of March 31, 2025<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • They must have worked continuously for at least six months<\/strong> during the financial year 2024-25.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Those who have served less than 12 months will get the bonus on a pro-rata basis<\/strong>, depending on the number of months worked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Additionally, the order extends the benefit beyond regular staff to include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF)<\/strong> and armed forces<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Employees of Union Territory administrations<\/strong> following the central pay structure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Bonus for Casual Labourers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        The government has also made a provision for casual labourers<\/strong> who have provided continuous service for at least 240 days a year<\/strong> (or 206 days<\/strong> in the case of five-day workweeks) for three consecutive years or more<\/strong>. Such workers will receive a bonus of \u20b91,184<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Employees on deputation<\/strong> to other organizations will receive the bonus from the organization where they are currently posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
