Although the company did not disclose the exact number of layoffs directly tied to the restructuring, it incurred <strong>$615 million<\/strong> in severance and related costs last quarter and expects an additional <strong>$250 million<\/strong> in the current period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are exiting on a compressed timeline people where reskilling\u2026 is not a viable path for the skills we need,\u201d CEO <strong>Julie Sweet<\/strong> told analysts, indicating that employees unable to adapt to new technology requirements may face redundancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consulting Demand Weakens, Profit Focus Remains<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The company reported <strong>$69.7 billion in revenue<\/strong> for the year ending August \u2014 a <strong>7% increase<\/strong>, with net income rising <strong>6% to $7.83 billion<\/strong>. However, demand for short-term consulting projects has declined due to tighter corporate budgets and <strong>reduced U.S. federal spending<\/strong>, which historically contributes about <strong>8% of Accenture\u2019s revenue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accenture now expects <strong>2\u20135% revenue growth<\/strong> in the new fiscal year but remains committed to expanding operating profit margins by at least <strong>10 basis points<\/strong> annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI Becomes the Core Growth Engine<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite layoffs, Accenture is doubling down on its <strong>AI-first strategy<\/strong>. Generative AI projects accounted for <strong>$5.1 billion<\/strong> of new bookings in FY2025 \u2014 up from $3 billion a year earlier.
