The company cited a \u201csharp decline in demand\u201d for vehicle components and software<\/a>, alongside fierce competition from electric vehicle makers, as key reasons behind the layoffs. Bosch said the global automotive market is \u201csubdued\u201d and under mounting pressure, forcing the company to \u201creduce costs at all levels as quickly as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

US President Donald Trump\u2019s 15% tariff<\/strong> on European auto exports has also hit profitability. Although lower than tariffs on other nations, Bosch said the additional costs make it \u201cimpossible to maintain its current high headcount.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The job cuts will affect roles across administration, sales, development, and production<\/strong> in several German cities, including Feuerbach, Schwieberdingen, Waiblingen, B\u00fchl, and Homburg. Discussions with affected employees will begin immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the sweeping changes, Bosch confirmed that no UK jobs will be impacted<\/strong> for now. However, the company will \u201ccontinually assess\u201d its operations based on market developments and customer demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
