If cleared, Adani will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.india.com\/business\/masterstroke-by-gautam-adani-as-adani-group-make-single-largest-deal-to-buy-88-properties-of-sahara-across-india-aamby-valley-township-star-hotel-sebi-sahara-refund-account-8098446\/\">deposit<\/a> the agreed payment into the SEBI\u2013Sahara refund account, created to repay millions of investors whose money remains stuck in the Sahara case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s Included in the Sale<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The deal covers more than 88 Sahara properties across India. Among the most notable are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Aamby Valley City<\/strong> (Maharashtra): A sprawling 8,810-acre luxury township.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sahara Star Hotel<\/strong> (Mumbai): One of India\u2019s leading five-star hotels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Other assets across Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand are also part of the deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sahara Seeks Court Protection and Oversight<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In its petition, Sahara requested the Supreme Court to invoke its special powers under Article 142 to ensure \u201ccomplete justice.\u201d This includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Shielding the assets from ongoing investigations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Centralizing all claims and liabilities under the Supreme Court.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lifting existing restrictions and seizure orders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sahara also proposed forming a <strong>high-level committee<\/strong> led by a former Supreme Court judge to oversee the sale process, resolve disputes, and manage liabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Sahara Opted for a Single Buyer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous attempts to sell assets failed due to poor market conditions, legal complexities, and ongoing probes. Selling assets individually, the group argued, would take years. Consolidating the sale into a single package was seen as the fastest and most value-maximizing solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Larger Context: Sahara\u2019s Long-Running Dispute<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sahara-SEBI case stems from illegal fundraising through debentures in 2012. Despite court orders and asset seizures, investor refunds remain incomplete.
