Rajasthan\u2019s railway connectivity is set for a major boost as two new Vande Bharat Express trains<\/strong>\u2014between Bikaner-Delhi<\/strong> and Jodhpur-Delhi<\/strong>\u2014will be launched next week. Operated and maintained by the North Western Railway (NWR)<\/strong> zone, these trains promise to deliver faster, more comfortable travel options, cutting journey times by over an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Rajasthan<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Rajasthan\u2019s First Vande Bharat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The state got its first Vande Bharat Express on April 12, 2023<\/strong>, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged<\/a> off the Ajmer\u2013Delhi Cantt. train<\/strong>. Notably, it became the world\u2019s first semi-high-speed passenger train<\/strong> to operate on a high-rise overhead electric (OHE) route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Existing Vande Bharat Services in Rajasthan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Rajasthan has four operational Vande Bharat services:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Ajmer\u2013Chandigarh (Train 20977\/20978)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Jodhpur\u2013Sabarmati (Train 12461\/12462)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Udaipur\u2013Jaipur (Train 20979\/20980)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Udaipur\u2013Agra Cantt. (Train 20981\/20982)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The upcoming additions will take this number to six<\/strong>, making Rajasthan one of the leading states in India for Vande Bharat connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Speed and Features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The Vande Bharat Express operates at a maximum speed of 160 kmph<\/strong>, offering premium comfort and safety. Key features include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Automatic plug doors<\/strong> and sealed gangways<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Ergonomic, reclining seats<\/strong> with revolving options in executive class<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Onboard mini pantry<\/strong> with hot cases, deep freezers, and water boilers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • CCTV surveillance<\/strong>, fire detection, and suppression systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Divyangjan-friendly lavatories<\/strong> and improved passenger movement design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      These modern coaches have been designed to enhance both safety and comfort, ensuring a world-class travel experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The new services will strengthen links between Rajasthan and the national capital, encouraging tourism, business travel, and regional trade<\/strong>.
