If implemented, subscribers could withdraw a portion of their PF directly through <strong>ATMs or UPI-enabled transactions<\/strong>, a move designed to enhance convenience and improve service delivery for nearly <strong>80 million subscribers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, withdrawals are processed via <strong>NEFT or RTGS<\/strong>, taking two to three days. Withdrawing through ATMs could make funds instantly available, especially useful in urgent situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pension Hike Proposal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Board of Trustees will also discuss raising the <strong>minimum pension<\/strong> under <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/business\/india-business\/provident-fund-withdrawals-by-atm-bank-like-seamless-transactions-epfo-may-rollout-benefits-before-diwali-check-details\/articleshow\/123824120.cms\">EPFO<\/a> from the current \u20b91,000 per month to a range of <strong>\u20b91,500\u2013\u20b92,500<\/strong>. This long-pending demand from trade unions is expected to benefit millions of pensioners struggling with rising living costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Concerns From Trade Unions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the excitement, some trade unions are cautious about the proposal to allow withdrawals through ATMs and UPI. They argue that provident funds are meant for <strong>retirement security<\/strong>, not for frequent spending. Easy access, they warn, might dilute the long-term savings purpose and encourage premature withdrawals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, automated withdrawals up to <strong>\u20b95 lakh<\/strong> are permitted for specific needs such as medical emergencies, education, housing, or marriage expenses. Trade unions stress that any new facility should not compromise this framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Diwali Gift For Subscribers?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sources suggest the government wants to introduce these changes before <strong>Diwali<\/strong>, to boost consumer spending and provide relief to subscribers.
