The Karnataka government has approved the acquisition of 6,217 acres across 22 villages in South Bengaluru, including BM Kaval, Kaggalipura, Hulimangala, and Hullahalli.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plan involves creating six new residential layouts and constructing a 10-lane road. These developments will be strategically located near the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) and the proposed Bangalore Business Corridor-2, which will connect Hosur Road and Mysore Road. Positioned parallel to Nice Road, the project is expected to improve connectivity and ease traffic congestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite its promise, the initiative faces strong resistance from local farmers and landowners, many alleging that the land is being taken without fair compensation. This marks the fourth-largest land acquisition by the BDA, following earlier projects such as 1,500 acres in Sarjapur for a tech park, 1,500 acres for Queen City near Doddaballapur and Dabaspet, and 9,000 acres for the Bidadi Township.
