At the Munich Motor Show in Germany, Mercedes-Benz unveiled its latest electric SUV concept, the GLC with EQ Technology, simply referred to as the GLC EV. Scheduled to launch in 2026, the model will replace the current EQE SUV and is expected to become Mercedes\u2019 best-selling EV, given the popularity of its ICE-powered GLC counterpart. Once released, it will compete directly with the upcoming BMW Neue Klasse iX3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercedes Reinvents GLC EV with Starry LEDs and AI-Powered Cabin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of design, the GLC EV maintains the muscular and upright silhouette of the conventional GLC SUV, contrasting with the sleeker, aerodynamic EQE SUV. Despite its SUV proportions, Mercedes claims an impressive 0.26 drag coefficient<\/a>. The front grille features a striking panel of 942 illuminated LED dots, flanked by headlights with a three-pointed star signature and eyebrow-like LED DRL bars. At the rear, the LED taillight design has also been revised, showcasing star-shaped elements within semi-circular bars. The SUV rides on 20-inch alloys as standard, with optional 21-inch wheels, and comes equipped with flush door handles, faux roof rails, bold air intakes, and a sporty rear bumper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the main highlight is the massive 39.1-inch Hyperscreen, the largest ever fitted in a Mercedes vehicle. Spanning nearly the entire dashboard, it eliminates most physical controls, leaving only a few on the steering wheel. Running on the latest MBUX interface, the Hyperscreen includes an AI-powered assistant, while premium materials and finishes reinforce Mercedes\u2019 luxury positioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dual-Motor GLC 400 4Matic Leads Line-up with 489 bhp<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built on the 800V MB. EA platform, the GLC EV supports up to 330 kW DC fast charging. It will be offered in two trims\u2014the GLC 300+ and GLC 400 4Matic\u2014both powered by a 94 kWh battery delivering up to 713 km of range. The GLC 300+ features a single rear-mounted motor producing 374 bhp, while the 400 4Matic uses dual motors for 489 bhp. With fast charging, the SUV can recover 303 km of range in just 10 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
