Funding will be shared as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Union government:<\/strong> Metro component only<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>State government:<\/strong> 50% of flyover cost<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Urban local bodies:<\/strong> 10% contribution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Loans:<\/strong> 40% to be raised through borrowings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The state has already earmarked <strong>\u20b94,000 crore in the 2025\u201326 budget<\/strong> for Namma Metro, part of which will support this initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delays and Revised Timeline<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally planned as a <strong>44.65 km project<\/strong>, the viaduct length has been revised to <strong>37.121 km<\/strong>. The double-decker design, though innovative, has caused delays, pushing completion by six months. Bengaluru Metro Phase 3 is now expected to be operational by <strong>May 2031<\/strong>, compared to the earlier <strong>2030 deadline<\/strong>. The revised cost is also <strong>5% higher<\/strong> than the previous \u20b915,611 crore estimate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s Next?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tenders for the first four packages, including stations and viaducts, will be floated in September 2025. Contractors will get <strong>45\u201360 days<\/strong> for submission, with finalisation expected by <strong>mid-November<\/strong>.
