The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, has ordered officials in the education department to enforce the use of facial recognition technology for students, teachers, and staff in every school and college. He highlighted that this technology will help ensure accurate attendance records and address gaps in the functioning of professional education centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM Revanth Reddy Pushes for Centralized Oversight and Faster Execution in Education Sector<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, at a high-level review of the Education department at the ICCC (Integrated Command and Control Centre), the CM pointed out that other departments were constructing additional rooms, kitchens, toilets, and guardhouses<\/a> for the Education department, which is not conducive to developing the education sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that the quality standards of the structures, construction supervision, funding and accountability should be monitored by a single department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To streamline supervision, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed that all educational institution construction projects be handled by the Education and Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation (EWIDC). This corporation is already overseeing the construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools. Engineers and other necessary personnel from various departments will be temporarily assigned to support the corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a review meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to promptly clear all pending mid-day meal bills using the green channel, stressing that no further delays should occur. He also instructed that outstanding sanitation bills under the Amma Adarsha Schools be settled without delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CM emphasized the need to fast-track the construction of toilets in women’s colleges and girls’ schools, and to set up container kitchens with solar-powered cooking facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the importance of sports, he suggested hiring Physical Education Teachers (PETs) on a contract basis if required. The meeting also included discussions on appointing female counsellors in welfare Gurukul schools to support girl students with personal and emotional issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM: Education is an Investment, Seeks FRBM Relaxation for Sector Loans<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized that spending on education should be viewed as an investment in the state’s future, not merely as an expense. He noted that Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka had already requested Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to exclude loans taken for education sector development \u2014 including the Young India Integrated Residential Schools \u2014 from the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given that over 90% of students in government educational institutions come from BC, SC, ST, and minority communities, the Chief Minister directed officials to compile a report on students who have attended these institutions over the past decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The review meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Special Secretary B. Ajith Reddy, OSD Vemulu Srinivasulu, Education Department Principal Secretary Yogita Rana, Higher Education Board Chairman Prof. Balakishta Reddy, Technical Education Commissioner Sridevasena, School Education Director Naveen Nicholas, and other key officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
