Expanding the Pixel 10 Satellite Ecosystem<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This announcement comes just days after Google expanded satellite features on the Pixel 10 lineup<\/a>. Google Maps and Find My Hub<\/strong> recently gained live location sharing over satellite<\/strong>, while Satellite SOS<\/strong> for emergencies also launched earlier this week. With WhatsApp calling, the Pixel 10 is no longer just about safety\u2014it\u2019s about mainstream communication powered by satellites<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Clear Edge Over Apple and Samsung<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The new feature gives Google a significant lead over competitors. Apple\u2019s iPhones currently restrict satellite connectivity to SOS alerts only<\/strong>, while Samsung\u2019s Galaxy S25 supports basic satellite messaging via Snapdragon Satellite<\/strong>. There are, however, some restrictions. Google confirmed that only select carriers will support WhatsApp satellite calling<\/strong>, and users may incur additional charges<\/strong> for using this feature.
