With the upgrade, this <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/industry\/transportation\/railways\/passenger-reservation-system-can-book-25000-tickets-per-minute-railway-minister\/articleshow\/123408660.cms?from=mdr\">capacity<\/a> will rise fourfold, ensuring smoother experiences during peak booking hours. The Rs 182 crore project will involve replacing outdated hardware and software with advanced technology, along with new network equipment, security systems, and enhanced functionalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Vaishnaw, this is part of a long-term modernization plan to bring scalability, security, and efficiency to railway services. Once complete, the new PRS is expected to handle over <strong>1 lakh ticket bookings per minute<\/strong>, reducing transaction failures and making services more reliable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">RailOne App Brings PRS to Passengers\u2019 Palms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside the PRS upgrade, Indian Railways has also launched the <strong>RailOne App<\/strong>, aimed at simplifying ticketing further. The app enables passengers to book both <strong>reserved and unreserved tickets<\/strong> directly from their smartphones, eliminating the need to visit counters or switch between multiple platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis, in effect, brings the PRS facility to the passengers\u2019 palms,\u201d Vaishnaw noted. The RailOne App is designed with a user-friendly interface, ensuring that even first-time users can book tickets effortlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why This Matters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pune\u2013Mumbai corridor alone sees over <strong>2 lakh passengers daily<\/strong>, and similar congestion is common across India.
