Despite a 28% GST regime since 2023, many have posted strong profits\u2014Gameskraft earned \u20b9947 crore in FY24, while Dream11 netted \u20b9188 crore in FY23. Experts say the ban could derail IPO plans and future funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Legal and Constitutional Hurdles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Critics call the bill \u201cunconstitutional\u201d for failing to differentiate <strong>games of skill from gambling<\/strong>. Multiple High Courts have upheld that skill gaming enjoys protection under <strong>Article 19(1)(g)<\/strong> (right to trade). Industry lawyer Jay Sayta said the government should wait for the <strong>Supreme Court\u2019s verdict in the Gameskraft case<\/strong>, which will decide if RMG qualifies as gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Lies Ahead?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With <strong>cross-party consensus<\/strong> in Parliament on banning money gaming, industry bodies like AIGF, EGF, and FIFS have urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to reconsider.
