The assistant runs on Meta\u2019s Private Processing system, which is fully encrypted and anonymous<\/a>, meaning no original text, suggestions, or related data are stored or linked to user identities. When enabled, users see a pen icon in place of the sticker icon. Tapping it triggers Meta AI to provide refinements. If ignored, the typed message remains unchanged on the device; if accepted, the request is processed securely, and suggestions are returned privately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Users can select from multiple tones, including Rephrase for clarity, Professional for formal communication, Funny for lighthearted exchanges, Supportive for empathy, and Proofread to correct grammar and spelling. At least three suggestions are offered, and senders can either stick with their original text or adopt an AI-enhanced version. Importantly, recipients will not be notified if a message has been AI-assisted. Users may also provide quality feedback via in-app flags without exposing message content to WhatsApp or Meta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
