He acknowledged the difficulty in acquiring land for the expansion of Pune airport but reiterated the government&#8217;s commitment to improving connectivity in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Timeline and Scope of Road Projects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gadkari reaffirmed an earlier promise that the Centre would invest \u20b950,000 crore in road and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatvnews.com\/business\/news\/mumbai-to-pune-in-90-minutes-union-minister-nitin-gadkari-announces-new-highway-check-details-2025-08-05-1002131\">highway projects in Pune district.<\/a> Key announcements included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A foundation-laying ceremony for \u20b915,000 crore worth of projects within the next 15 days<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An additional \u20b950,000 crore worth of projects to begin by December<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feasibility studies underway for \u20b915,000 crore more in roadworks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These initiatives aim to improve not just regional travel but also freight and industrial movement across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tender Rejection and State Execution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gadkari also shared that a private company had quoted \u20b93,600 crore for constructing the Mumbai-Pune highway, but the offer was deemed too expensive and ultimately rejected.
