The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered all the Food Business Operators (FBOs), including restaurants, dhabas, cafes, and eateries, to display their FSSAI license\/registration certificate with the QR code of Food Safety Connect<\/a> app in areas visible to customers such as entrances, billing counters, or seating areas in an aim at safeguarding public health and strengthening the food safety ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FSSAI Mandates Display of \u2018Food Safety Connect\u2019 App QR Code <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, the FSSAI said \u201cThis measure will empower consumers by providing them with a direct and user-friendly platform for grievance redressal,\u2019\u2019 in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While giving insight regarding this move, the Authority added that it has made the QR code of the app available on the front page of the FSSAI Licence and Registration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this the FBOs have been asked to feature the QR code or a direct download link for the Food Safety Connect app on their digital assets, including websites and online ordering platforms, wherever applicable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that all FBOs have been asked to display this in their premises in a nationwide advisory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing Consumer Grievances Made Easy With Food Safety Connect App<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All these changes are in compliance with the condition of License number 1 of the FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming to the Food Safety Connect app, it is developed by theFSSAI further allowing the consumers to lodge complaints regarding food safety and hygiene issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The individuals can report misleading claims on food products, access basic information about licensed and registered FBOs and stay informed about FSSAI\u2019s latest food safety initiatives and alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you lodge complaints through this app, they will automatically be routed to the concerned jurisdictional authority, further ensuring the prompt action and minimises delays in addressing consumer grievances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
