The announcement was made by Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, <strong>Jitendra Singh<\/strong>, in the Rajya Sabha, responding to a query by MP <strong>Sumitra Balmik<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ify-5-1.png\" alt=\"Govt Employees Allowed 60 Days Paid Leave To Take Care Of Parents\" class=\"wp-image-1298156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ify-5-1.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ify-5-1-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ify-5-1-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Leave Entitlements As Per CCS Rules<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the <strong>Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972<\/strong>, a central government employee is entitled to the following types of leave every year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>30 days of Earned Leave (EL)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>20 days of Half Pay Leave (HPL)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>8 days of Casual Leave (CL)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2 days of Restricted Holiday (RH)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These can be availed for <strong>any personal reasons<\/strong>, including medical care and elderly care, and they <strong>may be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/education\/employment-news\/govt-employees-allowed-30-days-earned-leave-to-take-care-of-elderly-parents-mos-jitendra-singh-in-rs-101753415985547.html\">combined<\/a><\/strong> with other leaves or holidays based on approval and availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Leaves Are Accrued &amp; Tracked<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>Leave Account<\/strong> is maintained for every government employee, where leaves are credited in two installments\u2014<strong>January 1 and July 1<\/strong> every year. Most types of leave, including EL and HPL, are <strong>debited<\/strong> from this account upon use. However, special leave categories like <strong>maternity, paternity, child care, or adoption leave<\/strong> are not debited from the regular leave account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Caring For Elderly Parents Recognized<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The clarification underscores the government\u2019s recognition of employees\u2019 <strong>family responsibilities<\/strong>, especially concerning the <strong>growing needs of senior citizens<\/strong>.
