Thus, <strong>actual savings may shrink to \u20b9100\u2013\u20b9300 per bottle<\/strong> in many states, say industry insiders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industry Reaction: Cheers, But Cautious<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI)<\/strong> welcomed the move, saying it would:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promote <strong>premiumisation<\/strong> of the Indian spirits market<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage <strong>foreign investment<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support <strong>hospitality, tourism, and retail<\/strong> sectors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boost <strong>state revenues<\/strong> through increased volume<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>ISWAI CEO Sanjit Padhi called it a \u201chistoric moment\u201d that would make premium spirits more accessible to Indian consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, <strong>Vinod Giri<\/strong>, a noted liquor industry expert, pointed out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cMost taxes on alcohol are at the state level. Even if the full customs duty reduction is passed on, the price drop will be marginal\u2014\u20b9100 to \u20b9300 per bottle.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Will This Impact Consumer Behavior?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While the price drop may not be huge, the <strong>psychological impact<\/strong> could be significant.
