Electric Vehicle Push Gets a Boost<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With electric vehicles becoming increasingly popular across India, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is stepping<\/a> up to meet demand. After setting up EV charging stations on the Lucknow Expressway, the agency has announced similar plans for two new expressways: Gwalior and Aligarh. Both will originate from Agra and enhance the region\u2019s highway infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilities Along the New Routes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In addition to EV charging stations, both expressways will offer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • One to two petrol and CNG pumps on each side<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Dedicated food plazas serving vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Separate toilet facilities for each gender<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Each EV charging point will allow two vehicles to charge at a time, with a 15 to 20-minute charging duration per vehicle. The initiative reflects NHAI\u2019s push to create EV-friendly highways in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Gwalior Expressway Highlights<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The 88 km Gwalior-Rohta, Agra expressway will cost Rs 4200 crore and include a hanging bridge over the Chambal River. Construction is scheduled to start in October and is expected to take 24 months. Once completed, travel time between Agra and Gwalior will drop to just 90 minutes, down from the current 2\u20132.5 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This expressway will also link with Agra\u2019s inner ring road, improving access to major corridors such as the Yamuna Expressway, Lucknow Expressway, and NH-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Aligarh Expressway Details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The 64 km expressway between Khandauli and Aligarh, with a budget of Rs 3400 crore, will begin construction in phases starting October. It will connect seamlessly to the Yamuna Expressway, improving connectivity to Aligarh and Hathras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The initial construction phase will focus on the section from Khandauli to Teedi Bagiya Chauraha. This segment will be widened, and a new elevated road will connect Teedi Bagiya to Rambagh Chauraha, reducing congestion and improving traffic flow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
