While making a landmark move towards enhancing the integrity and transparency of the recruitment process, the ministry of railways has announced<\/a> that it will introduce Aadhaar-based facial recognition technology across all its recruitment centres in the coming four months confirmed by the officials on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian Railways Implementing Facial Recognition Technology <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not surprising as this initiative appears to be a part of a broader reform agenda which is led by railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this move, they are aiming to make the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) processes more efficient, secure, and candidate friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the facial recognition system, it will leverage Aadhaar e-KYC to validate candidates\u2019 identities at multiple stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This process includes different stages such as during the submission of applications, registration on exam day, and even after the exam concludes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Real-time face matching technology, it will help in ensuring that the person appearing for the exam is the same individual who applied hence it can effectively eliminate the risk of impersonation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consideration Of Other Anti-fraud Initiatives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving ahead, the officials said, who are known to this development, \u201c Aadhaar-linked photographs will be compared with live images captured at exam centres. This layered approach to identity verification adds a crucial post-exam scrutiny measure, further solidifying the credibility of the recruitment process.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides this they are planning to implement other technological instruments for this  anti-fraud initiatives such as the deployment of mobile jammers across all more than 7,000 exam centres, which resulted in zero cheating cases in the June 2025 RRB exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note here that the integration of facial recognition technology here aligns with the government\u2019s larger push for digital governance and transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this integration, they not only aim to streamline the verification process but also seem to inspire greater confidence among candidates and stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that the Ministry is setting new benchmarks in exam integrity and fairness by embracing facial recognition across recruitment centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this implementation, they are ushering in a tech-enabled, tamper-proof recruitment system that reflects the Railways\u2019 commitment to reform and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
