The announcement was made by Milind Lakkad, Executive VP and Chief Human Resources Officer, during the Q1 earnings press conference on July 10, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Untitled-design-14-1-1.png\" alt=\"6% Profit Jump, Rs 12,760 Crore Earned \u2013 Yet No Salary Hike Decision from TCS\" class=\"wp-image-1297586\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Untitled-design-14-1-1.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Untitled-design-14-1-1-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Untitled-design-14-1-1-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TCS Sees Strong Growth, But No Pay Decision Yet<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For the April\u2013June quarter of FY26, TCS posted a 6% year-on-year rise in consolidated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/companies\/news\/tcs-salary-hike-when-will-it-major-roll-out-increments-to-employees-what-chief-hr-officer-post-q1-results-11752150440592.html\">net profit at \u20b912,760 crore<\/a>, up from \u20b912,040 crore in Q1 last year. Revenue also saw a modest 1.3% increase, reaching \u20b963,437 crore. Despite this financial stability, Lakkad confirmed that <strong>no decision has been made yet regarding wage hikes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, TCS had indicated that any salary revisions would depend on how the business shapes up amid global uncertainties. The company had previously delayed hikes due to a \u201cchallenging environment\u201d at the end of FY25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Attrition Hits Two-Year High<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While profits are up, employee retention remains a growing concern. TCS reported an <a href=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/unhappy-tcs-employees-complain-about-strategic-exploitation\/\">attrition rate of <strong>13.8%<\/strong><\/a> on a last twelve-month basis, the highest in two years. This marks an increase from the <strong>13.3% attrition rate<\/strong> reported in Q4 FY25. Lakkad admitted that the current attrition rate is <strong>above the company\u2019s comfort level<\/strong> of 13% and efforts are being made to bring it down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the attrition, TCS hired over 5,000 new employees during the quarter, taking its total workforce to <strong>613,069<\/strong>, up from <strong>607,979<\/strong> last quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Indian IT Sector Outlook Remains Positive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TCS&#8217;s performance comes amid continued growth in the Indian IT sector. The industry has been expanding globally, with a strong focus on digital services and cloud technology. According to IBEF, the IT industry reached <strong>$227 billion in FY22<\/strong> and is expected to hit <strong>$380 billion<\/strong> in GDP contribution by 2026.
