For the 2024\u201325 academic year, Indian students make up 42% of the international student population in Dubai\u2019s higher education institutions, as per the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Out of 42,026 students enrolled in 41 private institutions, 37 are international university campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student enrollment has surged by 20.4% in 2024\u201325, a notable jump from 12.3% the previous year<\/a>. The share of international students also rose from 25.3% to 29.4%, reflecting Dubai\u2019s growing appeal in global education. Business studies remain the most popular choice among international students (54%), followed by information technology and engineering (11% each). Media and design account for 6%, and humanities for 3%. Most students are enrolled in bachelor\u2019s programs (53%), while 37% are pursuing master\u2019s degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian presence in Dubai\u2019s academic scene extends beyond students\u201429% of faculty members in licensed institutions are of Indian origin, further strengthening student trust and engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dubai Eases Residency Rules with New Golden Visa for Indian Professionals<\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though Dubai doesn’t yet provide traditional post-study work visas, it offers alternatives like jobseeker, freelancer routes, and the prestigious Golden Visa. In a policy shift, the UAE has launched a nomination-based Golden Visa scheme targeting select Indian and Bangladeshi nationals. Unlike earlier models requiring significant property or business investment, the new system allows residency through a one-time AED 100,000 fee (approximately \u20b923.3 lakh or USD 27,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fee-based model significantly lowers the entry barrier compared to the previous AED 2 million (USD 545,000) investment requirement, making Dubai more accessible to professionals such as educators, scientists, digital creators, and maritime experts.
