The project, with an estimated cost of <strong>\u20b936,000 crore<\/strong>, is now India\u2019s <strong>largest redevelopment initiative<\/strong> to be executed through a construction and development model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project covers the redevelopment of <strong>Motilal Nagar 1, 2, and 3 colonies<\/strong>, spanning <strong>5.84 lakh square metres<\/strong>, and aims to transform the lives of thousands of residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"659\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-09-at-10.09.37\u202fAM-1024x659.png\" alt=\"Adani Group Bags India's Largest Redevelopment Project In Mumbai: Rs 36,000 Crore Estimated Cost\" class=\"wp-image-1297492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-09-at-10.09.37\u202fAM-1024x659.png 1024w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-09-at-10.09.37\u202fAM-300x193.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-09-at-10.09.37\u202fAM-768x494.png 768w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-09-at-10.09.37\u202fAM-1536x988.png 1536w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-09-at-10.09.37\u202fAM.png 1794w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Redevelopment Plan: Homes, Shops, and Slum Rehabilitation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to MHADA, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/adani-mhada-take-on-indias-largest-redevelopment-project-for-mumbais-motilal-nagar-colonies-estimated-to-cost-nbspnbsp-3906299\/\">redevelopment will include:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>3,372 eligible residential units<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>328 eligible commercial units<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1,600 slum tenements<\/strong> under the 1971 Slum Act<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A highlight of the project is the <strong>free rehabilitation<\/strong> of all eligible residents into <strong>ultra-modern 1,600 sq. ft. apartments<\/strong>, raising the standard of housing for thousands of Mumbai citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Global Consultants to Design and Execute the Project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With <strong>Adani Group<\/strong> appointed as the <strong>Construction and Development (C&amp;D) agency<\/strong>, the project will also bring in top international expertise:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mecanoo<\/strong>, a leading architectural firm from the Netherlands, will develop the <strong>master plan<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Buro Happold<\/strong>, a UK-based infrastructure consultancy, will handle <strong>infrastructure planning<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The master plan is expected to integrate sustainability features, including <strong>solar panels<\/strong> on residential buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Boost to MHADA\u2019s Housing Stock and Urban Vision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>MHADA officials shared that the redevelopment will yield <strong>397,100 lakh sq. metres<\/strong> of constructed area for the authority, significantly increasing its housing inventory for future needs. Sanjeev Jaiswal, VP and CEO of MHADA, stated, \u201cThis long-cherished dream of the residents of Motilal Nagar is becoming a reality, ensuring transparency, quality, and social commitment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adani\u2019s Growing Footprint in Mumbai Real Estate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This marks <strong>Adani Group\u2019s third major real estate venture<\/strong> in Mumbai, following <strong>Dharavi redevelopment<\/strong> and <strong>Bandra Reclamation<\/strong>.
