It offered a <strong>7.9 percent coupon<\/strong>, translating to an <strong>8.05 percent annual return<\/strong>. Encouraged by the response, the government is now planning to raise retail participation further in upcoming rounds, with a <strong>final decision expected in 2\u20133 months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Over \u20b943,000 Crore Raised So Far<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its launch in <strong>October 2021<\/strong>, the <strong>National Highways Infrastructure Trust (NHIT)<\/strong> has raised \u20b943,638 crore across <strong>four rounds<\/strong> up to FY25, covering <strong>2,345 km of highways<\/strong>. These include <strong>completed and operational toll roads<\/strong>, ensuring cash flow for investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Quality Norms for Road Projects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In a major policy shift, <strong>DPR contracts<\/strong> (Detailed Project Reports) will <strong>no longer be awarded based solely on the lowest bid (L1)<\/strong>. Gadkari stressed that this approach has led to <strong>compromised quality and road safety issues<\/strong>. Now, <strong>technical expertise, experience, and personnel quality<\/strong> will be prioritized in selecting consultants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NHIDCL to Get Dedicated Workforce for Border Roads<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>National Highways &amp; Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL)<\/strong> will soon establish a <strong>permanent cadre of 1,000 personnel<\/strong>, recruited from <strong>border states<\/strong> like <strong>Uttarakhand, J&amp;K, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya<\/strong>.
