Infosys, a leading Indian IT services firm, has revealed that its development centres in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Pune recorded the highest on-site attendance in April 2025. This update, shared during an internal all-hands meeting, reflects the company\u2019s commitment to reinforcing its return-to-office (RTO) policy. The initiative is part of a broader industry trend aiming to balance hybrid work flexibility with the advantages of in-person collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Infosys RTO Push: Bengaluru Leads Attendance as 10-Day Office Mandate Kicks In<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to internal data, Bengaluru led with 57% employee attendance, followed by Chennai at 52% and Pune at 50%.<\/a> Conversely, lower attendance rates were reported at Nagpur (46%), Indore (41%), and Gurgaon (32%). Infosys, which employs over 323,500 people globally\u2014mostly in India\u2014has been actively encouraging staff to return to office since November 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s RTO policy mandates that employees at Job Level (JL) 5 and below\u2014including software engineers, senior engineers, system engineers, and consultants\u2014must work from the office for a minimum of 10 days per month. Non-compliance leads to \u201csystem intervention,\u201d where unapproved absences are marked as leave unless cleared by managers. Although employees at JL6 and above, such as managers and senior delivery managers, are not strictly required to follow this rule, they are encouraged to maintain regular office attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of business verticals, Engineering IoT showed the highest attendance at 71%, followed by Engineering Medical (55%), IoT (53%), and Engineering Automobile (30%). Among job levels, JL6 employees reported the highest attendance rates, ranging from 62% to 73%, indicating that senior professionals and engineering-driven teams are more in sync with Infosys\u2019 push for in-office collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This trend highlights Infosys\u2019 ongoing efforts to drive productivity and teamwork through increased physical presence while adapting to evolving work models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
