The pass will simplify toll payments and offer significant cost benefits for frequent travellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Activation and renewal will be facilitated via a dedicated link on the <strong>Rajmarg Yatra App<\/strong> and the official websites of <strong>NHAI<\/strong> and <strong>MoRTH<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Important Announcement \ud83d\udce2 <br><br>\ud83d\udd39In a transformative step towards hassle-free highway travel, we are introducing a FASTag-based Annual Pass priced at \u20b93,000, effective from 15th August 2025. By offering a flat-rate solution through this pass, the government hopes to reduce long queues, disputes, and delays at toll booths\u2014offering a smoother travel experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rumoured Toll Reforms Partially Confirmed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, reports suggested that the government was considering two toll reforms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Annual Pass<\/strong> \u2013 Now officially announced.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Distance-Based Tolling<\/strong> \u2013 A proposed Rs 50 flat toll for every 100 km travelled, which is yet to be confirmed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>An earlier idea for a <strong>lifetime FASTag<\/strong> worth Rs 30,000 valid for 15 years has been shelved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Toward a Toll Booth-Free Future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though this system will initially run on existing FASTag infrastructure, the government eventually plans to adopt <strong>GPS and sensor-based tolling<\/strong>, eliminating the need for physical toll booths entirely. This shift is expected to further boost travel efficiency and reduce fuel consumption caused by idling at toll plazas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Major Step in Road Travel Modernisation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this announcement, the government is taking concrete steps toward modernising India\u2019s toll infrastructure and improving the overall travel experience for private vehicle owners.
