A new era of development is unfolding for the country as the Chinese smartphone and electronic companies have now started exporting from India to West Asia, Africa and even to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Big Win For Make In India <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a huge achievement as till date, the markets served almost exclusively from China and Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is marking a big win for \u2018Make in India\u2019!<\/a> Chinese smartphone and electronics manufacturers as they have begun exporting products from India to West Asia, Africa and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This could happen owing to the sustained government nudging and expanding local manufacturing capacities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact it represents a significant strategic shift for Chinese brands in India, which previously concentrated primarily on domestic sales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only that it also indicates heightened government oversight of Chinese enterprises following the 2020 border disputes and continuous governmental encouragement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that the Chinese organisations have received guidance to establish local manufacturing through Indian partnerships, through informal channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were asked to develop locally-owned distribution networks, pursue exports, and appoint Indian nationals to senior positions and boards, according to the sources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the FY24, Oppo Mobiles India achieved its first foreign exchange earnings of \u20b9272 crore in through exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similerly, Realme Mobile Telecommunications (India) generated \u20b9114 crore, as mentioned in their RoC regulatory submissions on May 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, these organisations are yet to submitted their FY25 financial statements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chinese Companies Facing A Notable Shift <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many international brands are now showing interest such as Lenovo Group has planned exports of servers and laptops from India, whilst its subsidiary Motorola currently exports devices to the US. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, Dixon Technologies, which is into the manufacturing of Motorola phones, is increasing its production capacity by 50% in order to address the rising export demands, as disclosed to analysts in the previous month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

this company produces smartphones for Transsion Holdings, a Chinese company that owns Itel, Tecno and Infinix brands, which has initiated exports to African markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides these, Haier, a prominent consumer electronics and appliances manufacturer, is investigating export possibilities, said the sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to these, there are various smartphone manufacturers such as Oppo, Vivo, Realme, OnePlus and Xiaomi are collaborating with Indian enterprises and have begun exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, the Chinese companies which are notably operating in India have not yet selected Indian nationals for positions of managing directors or chief executives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
