Each truck is checked for <strong>weight and height (up to 3.425 metres)<\/strong> before being allowed on board. The <strong>driver and cleaner travel in their truck cabins<\/strong> with regular tickets. A train is dispatched only when at least <strong>40 trucks<\/strong> are ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>cars and SUVs<\/strong>, the same safety checks will be essential, but the <strong>wagons will need new modifications<\/strong> to match smaller vehicle dimensions. Additionally, vehicles will need to be driven to <strong>Kolad<\/strong>, the existing Ro-Ro terminal, and a <strong>minimum number of cars<\/strong> must be available before the service can run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Monsoon Timetable Cut by 10 Days<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In a separate move, Konkan Railway has <strong>reduced its monsoon timetable by 10 days<\/strong>, now effective from <strong>15 June to 20 October<\/strong>. This decision was made due to better preparedness, including <strong>cleaned drains, stable cuttings<\/strong>, and <strong>completed geo-safety projects<\/strong>, which have significantly reduced risks from landslides and boulders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Safety Measures and Station Upgrades<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>More than <strong>600 trained personnel<\/strong> will patrol vulnerable areas, and <strong>LED signals and pre-warn rain systems<\/strong> are active at 9 stations. <strong>Flood alerts<\/strong> are also in place at key river bridges. Plans for <strong>new tunnels at Pernem and Old Goa<\/strong> are under review, and <strong>Madgaon and Udupi stations<\/strong> have been selected for upgrades under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, pending fund approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If implemented, Konkan Railway\u2019s <strong>car ferry project<\/strong> could revolutionize festival travel by reducing road traffic and offering a convenient, safe, and efficient travel alternative.
