Study-related emigration was the <strong>top reason for most non-EU nationalities<\/strong>, including Indians. Students finishing their courses are increasingly <strong>opting not to stay due to tougher post-study work rules and reduced long-term prospects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>UK&#8217;s Changing Migration Landscape<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The UK\u2019s overall <strong>net migration fell by 431,000 in 2024<\/strong>, almost halving from the previous year\u2019s record levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Long-term immigration<\/strong> dropped to <strong>948,000<\/strong>, down from <strong>1.33 million in 2023<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Emigration rose by 11%<\/strong>, from <strong>466,000 to 517,000<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prime Minister Keir Starmer<\/strong> called it a &#8220;record fall,&#8221; while <strong>Home Secretary Yvette Cooper<\/strong> credited it to stricter enforcement\u2014including deportations, crackdowns on illegal employment, and clearing asylum backlogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What It Means for Indian Students and Workers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For Indian nationals eyeing the UK for education or jobs, the environment is rapidly changing.
