Too Little, Too Late in a Crowded Market<\/strong><br>Shein\u2019s return via Reliance came five years after its original app was banned in India. But the new app, launched in February 2025, has failed to capture Gen Z\u2019s attention\u2014downloads plummeted from 50,000 a day to just 3,311 by April. While Shein was once a cult favorite, today\u2019s Indian fashion e-commerce landscape is saturated with established players like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and Urbanic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Lack of Inventory, Speed &amp; Agility<\/strong><br>The global Shein platform boasts over 600,000 products at any given time. Shein India had just 12,000 by April 2025. While Reliance has massive data sets\u2014via Jio, JioMart, and its content platforms\u2014there\u2019s little evidence it\u2019s using these insights effectively.
