The Gurugram-based carrier will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/industry\/indigo-longest-flight-manchester-amsterdam-11747820595359.html\">operate<\/a> these routes thrice weekly using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This also makes IndiGo the only airline to provide direct connectivity between India and Northern UK, enhancing mobility for students, professionals, and the Indian diaspora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upgraded In-Flight Experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>IndiGo is stepping up its onboard experience for international travelers. On these routes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>All passengers will get complimentary hot meals<\/strong>, with vegetarian options by default and the ability to pre-book non-veg meals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>IndiGoStretch customers<\/strong> will enjoy complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Economy passengers<\/strong> will receive complimentary meals and soft drinks, while alcohol will be available for purchase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, IndiGo has clarified that there are no plans to introduce hot meals on domestic flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strengthening Global Ties<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CEO Pieter Elbers stated that these flights are not just about expansion but about connecting India more deeply with global markets. The new routes are expected to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Boost <strong>tourism and trade<\/strong> between India and Europe.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support the <strong>Indian diaspora<\/strong> in the UK and Netherlands.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unlock new opportunities for <strong>bilateral cooperation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Manchester Airport\u2019s Managing Director, Chris Woodroofe, called it a game-changer, linking the North of England to India\u2019s booming economy. The route also arrives during a high point in India-UK relations, with a new Indian consulate in Manchester and key partnerships underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Dreamliners, Bigger Plans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To support these international ambitions, IndiGo has signed a damp lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways for six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. One aircraft is already operating on the Delhi-Bangkok route.
