Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a significant add-on order worth \u20b92,903 crore<\/strong> from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)<\/strong>, reinforcing its lead role in India\u2019s telecom transformation. The order pertains to the planning, supply, and maintenance<\/strong> of BSNL\u2019s 4G mobile network<\/strong> across 18,685 sites<\/strong> nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TCS revealed the order in an exchange filing on May 21<\/strong>, just before markets opened. Following the announcement, TCS shares opened marginally higher at \u20b93,503.20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the Deal Covers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to TCS, the APO includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Planning & engineering<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Installation & commissioning<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Annual maintenance support<\/strong> for the network rollout<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The execution will further scale up BSNL\u2019s 4G infrastructure, with eyes also on 5G readiness in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    TCS noted that final documentation and conditions are pending<\/strong>, and more details will be released by BSNL soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Tejas Network Secures \u20b91,525 Cr Order from TCS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Tejas Networks, a telecom equipment provider and part of the Tata Group, confirmed that it has received a supply order worth \u20b91,525.53 crore<\/strong> from TCS. The order covers the delivery of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Radio Access Network (RAN) gear<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Associated telecom hardware and services<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The equipment will be used to fulfil TCS\u2019s commitments to BSNL under the new order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Context: TCS\u2013BSNL Collaboration & Financial Snapshot<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      This development is part of the larger \u20b915,000 crore BSNL-TCS project<\/strong> that aims to build:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Telecom-grade data centres<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n

        Back in January, TCS CEO K. Krithivasan<\/strong> had stated that the BSNL contract is 70% complete<\/strong>, and its revenue impact would taper from Q4 of FY25. The company is exploring new opportunities<\/strong> to offset this decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
