A major infrastructure boost is underway in Greater Noida with the development of a world-class railway station at Bodaki, officially named the Greater Noida Terminal<\/em>. Envisioned as a high-capacity, modern hub, the terminal is set to redefine rail travel in North India. Once operational, it will handle up to 100 trains daily, including Vande Bharat and other premium services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of a Massive Multimodal Transport Hub<\/strong>
The terminal will be built within a 176-hectare multimodal transport hub<\/a> that also includes a metro corridor, interstate and local bus terminals. Of this, the terminal itself will occupy 46 hectares and feature 12 platforms and 63-yard lines for repair and maintenance. Train operations will be located on the ground floor, while the upper floors will house commercial establishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategically Located and Highly Connected<\/strong>
Situated less than an hour from the upcoming Noida International Airport, the terminal will enhance eastbound connectivity for Delhi-NCR. It will serve commuters from Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and neighboring areas, significantly reducing the load on Delhi\u2019s overburdened transit points like Anand Vihar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upgraded Design and Budget<\/strong>
Originally estimated at \u20b91,850 crore, the project\u2019s budget is expected to nearly double due to expanded scope and design upgrades. This includes improved infrastructure and added commercial facilities, making the terminal a mixed-use complex that blends transit with business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Execution and Oversight<\/strong>
The project is being led by DMIC-IITGNL, a joint venture between the Centre\u2019s NICDIT and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). The SPV will handle funding and auxiliary development like bus stops and utilities, while Indian Railways will oversee the core station construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expected Completion and Impact<\/strong>
Officials expect the terminal to be ready within three years of state approval. Once operational, it will transform the rail travel experience for lakhs of commuters and help decongest major stations in Delhi. The Greater Noida Terminal is not just a railway station\u2014it\u2019s a critical step toward making NCR a smarter, more connected region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
