The much-anticipated Reach 6 line of Namma Metro\u2019s Phase 2, stretching from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara, BMRCL had created a new deadline recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Timeline For Metro Reach 6 Line<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has finalised a new timeline for Reach 6 of the Namma Metro Phase II. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to to them, it is expected to be commissioned in September 2026 after the completion of all the tunneling works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be affecting the line connecting Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara is now expected to be operational by September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have reached to this decision after BMRCL completed the entire tunnelling process for the underground segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned the work on underground stations are nearing completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming to this project, it is a 21.26-km corridor comprises a 7.50-km elevated section with six stations from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere, and a 13.76-km underground stretch with 12 stations from Dairy Circle to Nagawara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the tunneling component of the underground section has completed the full 20.992 km of the twin tunnel work as mentioned in the press note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving ahead, the station construction across the four underground packages is progressing well, it’s completion percentages are ranging from 91% to 97%.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Monday, the Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had scheduled a visit to the under construction Bamboo Bazaar metro station but deferred the plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Is The Strategic Importance of Reach 6?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not clear yet whether the Reach 6<\/a> would be opened in two phases or in one go, so it’s finalisation is yet to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the Reach 6, it is one of the most complex corridors under the Phase 2 network due to its extended underground component and dense urban alignment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is manufactured with an aim to reduce vehicular pressure in central and south Bengaluru, particularly in corridors like Dairy Circle and Tavarekere, known for their bottlenecked road networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After its complition, it will not only offer seamless north-south connectivity but also integrate with existing and upcoming metro lines to improve city-wide transit efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
