Founder <strong>Tae Oh<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/telecomtalk.info\/spacecoin-telcos-launch-satellite-internet-in-india\/993959\/\">told<\/a> <em>Moneycontrol<\/em> that this model allows them to <strong>avoid high infrastructure costs<\/strong> and reach users faster through established telco networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Telco Collaborations Underway<\/strong><br>Spacecoin is currently in <strong>advanced talks with multiple Indian telecom operators<\/strong>. \u201cWe are doing co-engineering of the service with them,\u201d said Tae Oh. \u201cThere is a real need in India\u2019s remote areas, and telcos are responding positively.\u201d The company expects to announce its <strong>first Indian partnership by the end of 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Low-Bandwidth, High-Coverage Model<\/strong><br>The entry-level plan is set to cost around <strong>USD 2 (\u20b9170) per month<\/strong>, with higher usage incurring additional charges. <strong>Billing and customer interface<\/strong> will be handled entirely by local telecom providers, who will also pay Spacecoin for <strong>data transmission over its satellite network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Growing Satcom Interest in India<\/strong><br>India has become a hotspot for the <strong>growing satellite communications (satcom) race<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eutelsat OneWeb<\/strong>, <strong>Starlink<\/strong>, <strong>Amazon Project Kuiper<\/strong>, and <strong>Jio-SES<\/strong> are already building their presence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starlink has signed distribution pacts with <strong>Jio and Airtel<\/strong>, though is still awaiting full regulatory clearances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Global Blockchain-Powered Satellite Network<\/strong><br>Spacecoin\u2019s satellites will operate as part of a <strong>Decentralised Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN)<\/strong>\u2014a blockchain-powered system that allows <strong>other telecoms, militaries, and governments<\/strong> to join the network. This would enable <strong>shared satellite access and revenue<\/strong>, helping the company scale faster with limited satellite launches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Satellite Rollout Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First satellite launched with <strong>SpaceX in December 2024<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Three more satellites<\/strong> planned for <strong>October 2025<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Target: global coverage with fewer than 10 satellites<\/strong> in early phase<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Future goal: scale to <strong>hundreds of satellites<\/strong> as demand grows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>India Is a Key Market<\/strong><br>Spacecoin views India as <strong>central to its initial growth phase<\/strong>, citing strong demand, underserved rural areas, and low data costs.
