Former U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed fresh tariffs on multiple countries<\/a>, including a steep 54 percent duty on Chinese goods. With most iPhones still made in China, Apple has limited options \u2014 either absorb billions in losses or hike prices. The company\u2019s shares reacted sharply, plunging 9.3 percent on Thursday, the worst drop since March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Price Hikes Could Impact Sales and Market Share<\/strong>
The impact could be dramatic. The $799 iPhone 16 may rise to $1,142, while the $1,599 iPhone 16 Pro Max could approach $2,300. Even the more affordable iPhone 16e, priced at $599, could cost around $856 post-tariff. Analysts warn that such sharp hikes could slash consumer demand and hurt Apple\u2019s market share \u2014 especially as Apple Intelligence features have not impressed buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung Set to Gain From Lower Tariffs<\/strong>
With lower tariffs on South Korea, Samsung could benefit significantly. Unlike Apple, which still relies heavily on Chinese production, Samsung may dodge the worst of the cost increase, giving it a competitive edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
