The National Center for Seismology (NCS) has officially rejected recent earthquake predictions made by Vikas Kumar regarding Delhi and Nepal. In a strong statement issued on March 31, the NCS clarified that no scientific method currently exists to predict earthquakes with precision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Predicton<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

No Scientific Basis for Predictions<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dr. O.P. Mishra, Director of NCS, stated that Vikas Kumar has repeatedly made unauthorized earthquake forecasts<\/a> despite warnings from the scientific community. The agency emphasized that his predictions lack scientific credibility and are not backed by any research or approval from the Ministry of Earth Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earthquakes are caused by complex geological processes that are not yet fully understood. Modern seismology can only assess seismic risks and patterns but cannot determine the exact time, location, or magnitude of future quakes. The NCS warned that false alarms could lead to unnecessary panic among the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myanmar Earthquake and India’s Relief Efforts<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

While debunking these false forecasts, the NCS also reported on a significant earthquake event in Myanmar. On March 28, a powerful 7.5 magnitude<\/strong> earthquake struck central Myanmar, followed by a 7.0 magnitude<\/strong> aftershock and nearly 25 smaller tremors. The epicenter was just 16 kilometers from Sagaing and around 250 kilometers from Myanmar’s capital, Naypyidaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to this disaster, India has extended humanitarian aid to Myanmar under Operation Brahma<\/strong>. Relief materials have been sent to support those affected by the earthquake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public Awareness Against Misinformation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The NCS has urged the public to rely only on verified information from scientific agencies. Spreading unverified earthquake predictions can cause widespread fear and disrupt normal life. Dr. Mishra also pointed out that vague references like “20 degrees” and “45 degrees” in Kumar\u2019s forecast have no real meaning in seismological terms, further proving the baseless nature of his claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As earthquake prediction remains beyond current scientific capabilities, experts advise staying informed through official sources and focusing on preparedness rather than fear-driven speculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
