23,382 People Laid Off By 89 Businesses in 2025 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an effort to streamline operations, major corporations<\/a> such as Amazon, Intel, Volkswagen, Meta, Google, TikTok, Microsoft, Dell, and Porsche have all announced job cuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Layoffs is a website that tracks layoffs. For your information, 89 businesses have already let go of 23,382 workers in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, 1,52,472 workers were let go by 549 companies. The largest layoffs ever documented occurred in 2023, when 1,193 businesses let go of 2,64,220 workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TechCrunch reported that 6,003 workers were let go in January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tech companies laid off 16,084 employees in February 2025, which is almost three times as many as in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  3. HelloFresh<\/strong> laid off 273 employees and closed its Grand Prairie center in Texas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. HP (Hewlett Packard)<\/strong> announced 2,500 layoffs in a new round this month.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. TikTok<\/strong> laid off 300 employees from its Irish operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Wayfair<\/strong>, the e-commerce company, laid off 340 employees this year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Ola Electric<\/strong>, a leading Indian EV company, cut 3,000 jobs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Amazon<\/strong> plans to lay off up to 14,000 employees globally in early 2025 to save billions and reduce hiring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. ActiveFrence<\/strong> laid off 22 employees, or 7% of its staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. NASA<\/strong> is shutting multiple offices and laying off staff, reportedly due to compliance issues involving Elon Musk\u2019s DOGE.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The tech sector has faced significant challenges in 2025, with 74 companies laying off 18,397 workers due to economic difficulties, overhiring during the pandemic boom, and shifting corporate priorities. Notably, industry giants like Meta and HP have been at the forefront of these layoffs.
