Here is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jagranjosh.com\/general-knowledge\/da-hike-2025-lowest-in-7-years-8th-pay-commission-update-1741790274-1\">timeline<\/a> of recent hikes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>July 2024:<\/strong> DA increased from 50% to 53%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>March 2024:<\/strong> DA raised from 46% to 50%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>October 2024:<\/strong> DA and DR increased by 3%, reaching 53% under the 7th Pay Commission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>8th Pay Commission and Future DA Hikes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The government announced the <strong>8th Pay Commission<\/strong> on January 16, 2025, with its recommendations set to take effect on January 1, 2026. Until then, one final DA hike under the <strong>7th Pay Commission<\/strong> is expected around Diwali 2025. Once the new pay structure is implemented, the DA will be merged with the basic salary, resetting it to zero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Impact on Government Employees<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While the DA hike provides relief against inflation, employees may find the 2% increase underwhelming compared to past hikes.
